Fans India dedicates song to Women’s T20 cricket team

The Indian cricket team supporter group ‘Fans India’ has released a special song dedicated to India’s women’s team for the Women’s T20 World Cup taking place in Australia. Many songs have been written for the Indian men’s team over time but this is the first time that a song is being dedicated to the women cricketers. The song ‘Mera India’ (meaning My India) was directed, filmed and composed in Adelaide by Team India fans.

The special anthem was produced in Adelaide by Fans India members who filmed and completed it in two-and-a-half days. “We have shot this song at the gymnasium, cricket ground and at the beach showcasing various types of traditional dances of India,” said Rajul. “Generally, women’s tournaments are not getting enough support or promotion and fans are not engaging themselves to it, but the message of this song tells fans we should support women’s sports and encourage them to do well at the global stage,” said Vatsal Desai, another member of the Fans India.
